Tirupati (तिरुपति) is one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations in India, located in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. It is world-famous for the Sri Venkateswara Temple (Balaji Mandir) situated on the Tirumala Hills, dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his form as Lord Venkateswara.

By Air: Tirupati International Airport (Renigunta, 15 km).
By Train: Tirupati Railway Station is well connected to major cities.
By Road: Excellent bus and taxi services from Chennai (135 km), Bengaluru (250 km), and Hyderabad.

Best Time to Visit

September to February – Best weather for temple visits.
Avoid peak summer (March–June).
Important festivals: Brahmotsavam, Vaikuntha Ekadashi, Ratha Yatra.

Darshan & Tips

Online booking for darshan is recommended due to heavy rush.
Various types of darshan: Free Darshan, Special Entry Darshan (₹300), VIP Darshan.
