Haridwar (हरिद्वार) is one of the most sacred pilgrimage cities in India, located in Uttarakhand on the banks of the holy River Ganga. The name Haridwar means “Gateway to Lord Vishnu (Hari)”, and it is also considered the entrance to the Char Dham Yatra (Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, Yamunotri).
